KEIGHLEY social housing group Incommunities has celebrated its 15th birthday. A gathering, including a cake-cutting, was held at the group's headquarters. Among the guests was Keighley MP John Grogan, representing all the district's MPs, and Baroness Margaret Eaton.

KEIGHLEY'S MP said he was told the performance of the town's Marks and Spencer's food and clothing store had deteriorated "significantly" in recent times. John Grogan was reporting back on a meeting he had with an M&S team in London, which he attended with Bradford Council leader Cllr Susan Hinchcliffe.

ILKLEY people are being urged to put waste in its place by taking part in a litter-picking weekend. Organisers of the three-day clean up are hoping it will lead to a regular programme of activity to help keep the town tidy. Ilkley Parish Council is working in partnership with Bradford Council and in conjunction with the area's MP John Grogan to organise the initiative.

THE people behind plans to develop a private cemetery near Keighley Tarn have been invited to a meeting by Keighley's MP. John Grogan said he intends this meeting, which he also wants councillors and faith leaders to attend, to be in the first week of April. He added that he wants to see "improved communications" between the owners of the development site and nearby residents.
