A CAMPAIGN to improve the support given to new mums with mental health problems has won backing from Keighley MP John Grogan. The Hidden Half initiative has been launched by the National Childbirth Trust, whose research has shown that half of new mothers with an emotional or mental health issue don't get it recognised by a health professional and so receive no treatment. Campaigners are calling for improved six-week postnatal check-ups, so problems can be identified and appropriate treatment offered.

THE uncompromising truth about the reality of child sex grooming and what must be done to eliminate it was broadcast at a conference in Keighley.“Safeguarding Children – How to Make Keighley the Best” was staged in Keighley Civic Centre after being jointly organised by MP John Grogan and the United Keighley group.The conference brought together schools, the police, councillors, social workers, churches, mosques and the voluntary sector.

A MAJOR initiative has been unveiled to bring new businesses, investment and jobs to Keighley. Regeneration chiefs say the scheme, launched this weekend, will breathe fresh life into the town. Firms will be offered financial incentives to expand their operations, bringing empty units and buildings back into use and creating employment.
