THE Keighley Cricket Academy concluded its successful winter cricket coaching sessions at Carlton Keighley (UAK) last weekend.

These sessions were hugely popular and attended by youngsters from the age of six to 16.

They were run with the support of the England and Wales Cricket Board and Yorkshire Cricket Board and were funded with a grant from the Keighley Community Chest Fund.

Labour has lined up at least eight former MPs to return to Parliament as Sir Keir Starmer prepares to push for power.

The party is in the process of selecting its candidates for all target seats ahead of the general election expected in late 2024.

An unusually large number of ex-MPs, most of whom lost their jobs in the 2019 wipeout, have put their name forward to stand again this time around.

HSBC is to axe its Ilkley, Skipton and Horsforth branches next year in the face of declining footfall.

The bank branch, in Wells Road, Ilkley, will close on June 13, 2023. The Skipton branch will also close on the same day. The Horsforth branch in Town Street will close on July 18, 2023.

FORMER Keighley and Ilkley Labour MP John Grogan has been chosen by the party to contest the seat again at the next general election.

He was selected during a meeting at Keighley's Central Hall yesterday (November 27), which saw more than 300 party members take part in a vote.
