A CAMPAIGN group battling to restore a former railway line is holding another open meeting. The Skipton-East Lancashire Rail Action Partnership (SELRAP) will report on the latest situation. The group is spearheading efforts to get the 12-mile Skipton to Colne line, which closed in 1970, reopened.
Backers of the move, which would provide a direct rail route from Keighley into Lancashire, include the town’s MP John Grogan.
Transport for North is providing funding for a definitive study of the route by the Department for Transport, for completion by the end of this year.
The open meeting is being held in the upstairs room at the Crown Hotel, Albert Road, Colne, on Monday, September 10, at 7pm.
Anyone is welcome to attend.
