STALLHOLDERS in Keighley Market Hall got into the spirit of Halloween on Saturday. They dressed up for the celebration, which was organised by Just 4 Paws pet shop owner Yvonne Bryant. An empty unit in the market was turned into a dedicated scary Halloween attraction for children, and money was collected for the Medical Detection Dogs charity.
Customers were also able to meet a medical detection dog called Lucy.
Keighley MP John Grogan, who visited stallholders on the day of the event, said: "They celebrate Christmas, Eid and Easter at the market as well, and it's a real gem in the centre of Keighley, with many bargains to be had."
Miss Bryant said: "We hold these events to help bring people into the market because we've got some lovely shops here and we really want people to come here and appreciate what's on offer."
She thanked market manager John Glover for supporting the Halloween day, adding that Medical Detection Dogs was an extremely worthy cause.
The charity funds training for dogs which enables them to detect tiny changes in their owner which indicate they might be on the verge of suffering a medical emergency.
